We haven’t lived in India for years. But it’s home. Honestly? We took our roots for granted—until we had kids.

As diaspora parents, we realised that our little ones found it hard to relate to our culture— because they don’t see it, feel it, or experience it daily. We tried a ton of books and toys, but most felt old-school, a bit loud, and a lot dated. Formal tutoring? Total chore. 

So... Moli.Boli

We help South Asian diaspora kids discover their culture through their heritage languages .

As a diaspora mum myself, I know parents like me might already worry about culture loss — and the last thing we need is another guilt trip. Or another to-do.

Moli.Boli works to keep alive heritage language and culture in tiny nudges. Our culture cards use artefacts from the everyday lives of multilingual diaspora households to build familiarity with everyday words. 

One word. First words. Tiny conversations. Real connection. In the car, at the dinner table, at bedtime.  

We're not a toy, and we're not a language platform. We're a culture builder. 

Each culture card combines beautiful illustrations with English, traditional scripts and easy Roman pronunciation — familiarising children with heritage languages while also allowing multilingual families to engage in the learning journey together. We currently support Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati and Marathi, with more to come.

Our hope? Confidence with words unlocks deeper discovery of heritage memories and broader culture. It's a journey rooted in pedagogical research and neuroscience, so the play has substance.

Having studied, lived, and worked across three continents, I know what it takes to put down roots in a new world—or dig deep to maintain connections with the old one. I’m hoping MoliBoli helps Indian kids navigate both worlds with cultural confidence, holding onto a piece of home even as they build a new one.
